Warlock, Pact of Two Souls
Born to a family of knights loyal to a secluded island nation, Ambrose broke away from his upbringing to discover his chivalry on his own back on the mainland. What he found was a companion that led him to his demise - and a manufactured body for his, and Pim's, souls to inhabit in tandem.
Ambrose still holds true to his oath as a knight even after death, and the anger that spurns his ghost's persistence is fuel for his acts of justice. He's a bit awkward when met with any praise or recognition and he can be relatively standoffish with strangers, making him dread his title as the Crowned Knight, but in truth he is a kind and lonely soul. He hasn't forgiven Pim, yet he can't help but be lenient with his squire's fantasies.
Warlock, Pact of Two Souls
Growing up with nothing, Pim had dreams of grandeur rooted in his love of stories of great knights of old and new. Through his squireship to Ambrose, he pushed for more and more chivalric acts until his naivety led them both into a trap, tying them together for the rest of their undead lives.
Despite the horror behind his body's creation and the guilt he now feels, Pim sees a new opportunity: to live from the eyes of a knight, as he had always wished. He continues to use a facade of innocent helplessness to try to prolong his relationships, including with Ambrose, but the overwhelming sadness that has attached itself to his ghost forces a reminder of the consequences of his misdeeds at every waking moment.
Bootlegger from Philadelphia
The Dawson family didn't have much but their mechanic shop, so it was no surprise that Mickey's father clung so tightly to the idea of him being his daughter. It only sparked a rebellious streak in Mickey, though, leading to his less than legal participation against the Prohibition and a move down south, away from Philadelphia.
It was in Baltimore that he caught up with his childhood best friend, Claude Lovejoy, until his suspicious untimely death in 1925. In search of more answers, Mickey has been roped in to an investigation of the occult he didn't previously believe existed. In the face of otherworldly and strange horrors, he strives to maintain a positive attitude, and he'll be dead and buried before he gives up the chase on Claude's real murderer.
Druid, Circle of the Moon
Monk, Way of the Verdant Rhythm
Finli, originally from the Feywild, awoke alone in a dark forest on the material plane with no memory of who they were or where they were beyond a note left in their pocket. They survived well enough, but loneliness eventually made them face their fears, make new friends, and rediscover their past on a journey across the planes.
With optimism that got them into trouble just as much as it saved them from it, Li's naivety and belief that all things can be good brought hope to them and their found family in their darkest moments fighting monsters, fey, broken souls and cruel curses. They are light and jovial, and while they know little about the worlds' intricacies, they still strive to help it bloom amidst the scars of its past, no matter how small the gouge.
Bloodhunter, Order of the Lycan
With a werewolf mother she never knew and an ordinary father that raised her, it was perhaps a slim hope that Bryn would escape her mother's curse. But when she began displaying signs of lycanthropy, her brother searched for a cure that he was tricked into, only cementing her feral rage further, making her transformations harsh and wild.
Seeking aid, Bryn turned to an old forgotten hag in the woods, once a warsmith for the unseelie fey, who crafted shackles that would limit her transformation and temper her rage, to an extent. With control at her fingertips, Bryn still sees herself as a violent monster - and she's not too determined to change that. She's blunt, stubborn, and no-nonsense, and she's finally felt at peace with who, and what, she is.
